Monday 19th March sees the annual election of the ULIP Students' Union. It is an incredibly important day of the year for ULIP, as those elected will shape the experiences of all students the following year at university. Although voting is not compulsory, the higher the turnout, the more democratic the SU can be. Here is the list of candidates standing for election on Monday.
President - Rachel Addison-Child, Tom Gardner, Joe Lennard, Sam O'Doherty Vice President - George Bagguley, George Greaves Events - John Helm Secretary - Linh-Chi Nguyen Welfare - Sophie Lawrence Treasurer - Agnieszka Konieczny BA3 - Laurie Ainscough, Phoebe Cripps BA2 - Sophie Small, Ben Wright Tomorrow, Thursday 15th at 17h30, the election hustings/question time will take place. This is a vital part of the election process. Candidates will have the opportunity to present their manifestos and all students will subsequently have the chance to pose any questions to candidates. Although, as you can see, for certain positions, candidates are standing unopposed, it is still a great opportunity to hear their plans for next year and raise any queries that you may have. If you cannot attend the question time event, have a look at the posters and manifestos around the university for further information on all the candidates. Either way, make sure you come and vote on Monday to elect the SU that you want to help guide you through your next year at university.
