![]() ULIP SU's second canteen event of the year passed joyously in to out collective memories last night, with ceremonies presided over by Nick Kent, we had a liberal selection of beers (very few were Bavarian but nobody seemed to mind too much), there were more pretzels than any one man could eat (not so impressive when you take in mind there were 50 of us, but my point is here that there were a lot of pretzels), Germanic hot dogs and activities teuously linked to German culture. First up we had our quiz, in which the participants' knowledge of German culture, history and football was tested to its limits, very comprehensively won by one team whose name, I fear, now escapes me (they had a quiz pun, I'm sure). This was followed by a Beer-downing competition involving Elsa Hardman Clark, Chika Alichukwu, Kate Goodbody and Meg Davies (very nobly considering she was working from early-on this morning) from which Elsa emerged victorious, a feat made all the more impressive by the fact she was last to work out how to open her bottle, see pictures below. After the event we headed on to La Quille, a bar with cheap beer, bowling and billiards, with the former two being partaken of quite impressively by the assembled ULIP masses and of which there seems to be more photos than I can account for. An honourable mention in this post goes to Monica Marriot-Mills who took office as SU Events Photographer this week and has taken a cracking set of photos (as you'll soon see). Hope to see many of you at next week's Halloween event at Corcoran's!
