A week full of tactical chunders, jägerbombs and excitement, Freshers’ Week 2016 (or Seshers’ Week) was eventful to say the least. Georgia and Sufiyah set the standards very high with the first event, the launch party with a fantastic traditional ULIP spread of more baguettes and cheese than you could imagine. Tuesday saw a boozy sports day, an “Alcolympics” with childish sports and adult prizes. The following evening was what can only be described as “carnage”- a murder mystery bar crawl organised by myself and Mike Johnson. This started well, but ended less well. Tout le monde ended up so drunk that they forgot that it was a murder mystery game! A fantastic night with a lot of grueling challenges that were not kind to our livers. Following this we had a Freshers’ fair where the societies presented themselves and the newcomers signed up to sports, music and yet more drinking activities. A late one on Thursday night with the infamous Mix Club, where they played banger after banger and everyone absolutely loved the novelty of a slide. The crème de la crème finished the week, the Freshers’ Ball at Jammin’ Club near Châtelet. It was an amazing night with a great DJ and lots of alcohol (perhaps a little too much for some people, huh?). Overall, this was an incredible week jam-packed with memorable events, but none of it would have been possible without our events gals Georgia and Sufiyah, the team of Freshers’ helpers who helped with all the alcohol transportation and the rest of the SU helping clear up and organise everyone. We can’t wait for the next amazing ULIP event!
