Last Thursday Music Society organised its first Live Lounge event at ULIP. It was a great night with performances by Mike Johnson, Milo Horricks, Kyra Maddocks, Katharine Worley and Chika Alichukwu.
Check out the videos on the ULIP Radio YouTube channel now! See you at the LGBT/Karaoke lip-sync battle on Thursday night and the Swimming social on Friday.
Following the tragic events of this weekend, the Students' Union would like to take the oppurtunity to thank the incredible way in which the staff have reacted.
"Dear Students, Colleagues and Friends
On behalf of the whole University of London Institute in Paris community, I would like to express my condolences for the families and loved ones of those who have been killed and our deepest support for those who have been injured over the last weekend. This attack on our fellow Parisians is an attack on all the human values we cherish.
Thankfully, all our students and staff are safe and well albeit deeply shaken. Thank you to all my colleagues who have worked tirelessly since Friday evening to locate and reassure our student body and and put in place counselling and support for those who need it. This work will continue over the coming days and weeks as we are aware that the emotional shock may be deeply felt.
We are working closely with our partners the British Council as well as the Foreign Office and the local police to ensure that the Institute remains a safe and calm place for all of us. Fortunately, our building is located in a well-protected part of Paris and the local police commissariat is a few minutes walk away from us.
We re-started classes on Monday and are carrying on our work here in Paris as an academic institution committed to understanding and contributing to relationships across borders and barriers in the interests of humanity. Thank you for your support along this path.
I would also like to convey to you the deepest sympathies and support of Professor Sir Adrian Smith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of London. The University, led by Sir Adrian, has been enormously supportive and helpful in our efforts to cope with the tragedy.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. My mobile is +33 6 83 60 06 07.
