This Thursday evening heralded the first society collaboration event, hosted by a man with a lot of bottle (and bottles) Hugo Poon, our resident sommelier. We were introduced to various types of wine from France that were paired with different types of French (and English - we are expats after all) cheese . Hugo gave a little talk about the origins and manufacturing of the wine, it was an event of quiet and pleasant education, and obviously much wine and cheese. Afterwards we ventured forth onto the boulevards of Paris for a visit to ' The Quiet Man' for a cheeky spot of more drinking. Hope to see you all tomorrow for Oktoberfest! So Freshers week went by in a flurry of drink deals, friendship-forging and fun. In case you've been living under a rock recently, or don't have Ulip Eye on Facebook, here are some of the best pictures from the week. Our next event - Wine and Cheese night - is TOMORROW (8th October), can't wait to see you all there! monday - Launch partyWEDNESDAY - BAR CRAWLTHURSDAY - FRESHERS AND RECRUITMENT FAIR, MIX CLUBFRIDAY - SPORTS DAY AND BOWLINGSATURDAY - BALLSUNDAY - YOGA |
