No likey? No lightey! It’s the cheesiest dating show on TV and is coming to ULIP on the 9th February! Charlie Moore and Tom Gardner will be in Paddy McGuinness' Lancastrian shoes for what promises to be an absolute corker of an event.
Followed by an after party at Belushi's - more information to come. Boys and girls, contact head of events, Michaela Neame, to participate. (You do not have to be single to take part!)
Let the onion see the bhaji!
Linh-Chi Nguyen (BA2) has kindly organised a mixer with AUP (The American Uni in Paris) for us all to go to. There'll be cheap deals on food and drink and it will be a great chance for us to socialise with the AUP students. There's also an open mic, so prepare yourself if you want to get involved. Would be great if some of us could.
Starts at 7pm, hopefully see you all there!!
Make sure you don't miss this gig on Wednesday 1st February at the Fleche D'Or. Firstly, this is at a great venue, La Fleche D'Or is a converted train station, which is pretty frigging sweet wouldn't ya say. Also, Friends + Theme Park are two great bands not to miss. Friends are a Brooklyn based pop group, rising popularity, good choons bla bla bla etc. However, I reckon Theme Park are the ones to watch. From the same school in London as Bombay Bicycle Club, they retain some kind of indie-pop pedigree. But they are by no means a product of Bombay's fame. Louis Bhose, bassist for Theme Park also happens to play with Bombay...the links between the two bands are fairly obvious. Theme Park's biggest record so far has been "Milk" which sounds like it came straight off an old Bombay EP. Anyhow, they are great band, one of my predictions for bands to watch this year and they are also really really really good live. So get your tickets in advance for only 10 Euros and see you there next Wednesday.
The Big Fat Quiz of The Year was a huge success. It took place in the canteen on Thursday 19th January and was expertly written by Tom Gardner, John Helm, George Bagguley and Joe Lennard. The quiz was hosted by Charlie Moore - a few funny jokes, but on the whole his humour (as per usual) was more miss than hit. The quizzers went straight from the event to the Hideout in Bastille, where the quiztivities continued until late. Keep your eyes peeled for future canteen events!
