Vegetarianism is something that the French have only very recently begun to understand, and while the majority of them are now aware of the concept, it is very rare to find a French person who isn’t baffled that someone could live without consuming piles of steaks and bits of pig with every meal. This means that being a vegetarian in Paris can be very challenging. However, DO NOT FEAR! Help is at hand...
ULIP Vegetarian Society is a group welcoming all from the pasty vegan to the meat-obsessive, as long as the latter are willing to put their prejudices aside and sample some quality vegetarian cuisine.
The aims of ulipveggiesoc (isn’t it just crying out for a hashtag?) are two-fold:
Firstly, it provides a means of helping each other out with advice on where to buy the best vegetarian products without taking out a bank loan, swap veggie recipes, and generally have a merry old time.
Secondly (and perhaps most importantly), we host a number of cracking events and trips, to sample what Paris has to offer in the way of vegetarian cuisine, and to have a go at cooking for each other and ourselves.
